My tailgate randomly refuses to unlock – when I press the tailgate button on the key, it does just one long beep.
– when I press the tailgate button on the dash, it does three short beeps like it’s locked.
– when I press the button on the tailgate, it also does three short beeps.
Generally takes a few cycles of lock/unlock on the door switch to clear it. Of course it works fine when the dealer checks…
I pulled the latch cover off the inside of the tailgate and can’t see the lock mechanism, just the latch. Couldn’t see anything move as it locked/unlocked. And of course it all worked fine when I was trying to troubleshoot.
Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting?
