Searched the forum, and didn’t find this specific issue, so here goes.
I seem to be getting a power drop from the front USB ports, that then resumes moments latter. Consequently, my CarPlay drops and then comes back. I can run for 20 minutes and no drop, and then the power cycles 6, 7, 10 times in a row. The reason that I think it’s the power, and not just a CarPlay drop, is that I run one of the carplay2air aftermarket dongles, along with a wired charging cradle. Consequently, the dongle dropped the connections, and the charging cradle dropped power. Thinking it was the dongle acting up, I took that out, and put in an Apple cable and attached the phone to that, while leaving the charging cradle attached. Drops still happened with the cable, and power would cycle on both the phone, and on the empty cradle.
Took it to the dealer today and got the “can’t replicate” response, but they did update me to the latest software – F31BHM141-580, saying that should solve it. Drive out of the dealership, and 1/2 block down the road, 1, 2, 3 drops. A service advisor took a ride with me, saw the problem, tried a different cable, same issue, and I suggested they work up a new approach and update me on what we’re gonna do. 36 month warranty is ended next February, and I’d like to get anything I can taken care of before then, obviously.
I’d appreciate any input from others that may have experienced something similar.
To date – front window regulators have been replaced on both sides, head unit (CCU) was replaced with a refurb unit, and roof rail covers replaced to fix the waviness issue.
