2021 Hill Traction Climbing Problem

I too have experienced these symptoms while driving on long trips and starting to climb long grades. It looks like it will happen more when it’s loaded with family and a suit for each. He has done it in cases where I am the only resident. Almost like helpless and trying to force him to go faster. I usually cruise around 65-75. I give it gas and it seems to hesitate or stutter, but once it gets up and goes, it goes. Not sure what it is and have taken it to the dealer. They certainly can’t reproduce the problem and don’t do enough to give a code.

This should not be normal. I was 6,000 pounds on my last cross trip, and repeatedly harassed my Forester and Baja friends at altitude because I could slow down to a stop, then fly up hills and mountains, leaving them in the dust, because their naturally aspirated cars could not keep up.

Ascension does not note altitude.

However, keep in mind, the gas pedal is not an accelerator pedal. As an incline increases, pedal pressure must be compensated to maintain speed. It really is one throttle position pedal.
