Will the 245/65R17 fit? | Subaru Outback Forums

It depends on the offset and width of the wheel you will be using. I can tell you right away that any offset lower than +42 on an 8″ width is going to rub a bit.

I daily +35 and when the tires were new they rubbed a lot in full lock but I don’t care lol. I also tried 1” spacers over +35, effective offset +10, and it required cutting the fender liner which I walked away from.

Hello,

Just installed 245/65 17 Goodyear Fortera HL on Method MR502 offset +38mm. It rubs very little when it’s fully engaged, turned, like you’re doing a turn. Smooth right and left turns on the road, no friction well. The car feels taller and smoother, but also handles better than the 18″ with 225/60 18 Bridgestone tires.

Yes, agreed compensation makes a difference. I chose Method because it’s a Subaru Rally brand and I didn’t want to just pick any brand of aftermarket wheels. Also, Method is very cheap at $200 each.
