The ghost behind a lost part of the order

Here is my experience. Tl;dr : I ordered a bunch of cosmetic stuff, didn’t get one thing @$100, support said they would send it, now I feel like I’m ghosted.

I placed a fairly large order in early June that was over $1k. Some things were on back order even though they were listed as available. They contacted me about it after a few days and we determined which items to change and which to remove. Note that they had already charged my card for the full amount and this process resulted in a partial refund. I find this sort of thing inappropriate, but if it’s rare it’s forgivable. It’s also worth noting that Amex required 2FA to charge me, and when that happened, I knew there was a chance I wouldn’t get anything. Amex never asks me for confirmation.

My inbox starts getting spam from the company right away… typical. Shipping is fast which is reassuring. When I go to install my goodies I notice there are 3 OEM boxes with the smallest box packed to the gills with other small parts… except I’m missing one thing and it’s not even in any of the bigger boxes . One box had a chipped top and could have been reattached if opened during shipping. UPS has been wild lately, you should see the torn pieces of cardboard getting into my tapes.

I contacted their support for parts.

By the time they got back to me (same day just before 5 o’clock) I had put everything else in the car. They asked me to check my packages again. I confirm that yes, I went through everything and yes, I did not get it the second time. So a day later he asks me for pictures of the items I received. “Why?” I think to myself, “is he worried that I’m going to come back and say that I missed other things too? Or is this an escape?” I answer that I have already put the rest in the car, but everything else came in order. I sent a photo of the boxes because for me the most important information is that broken box. At this point I’m giving up hope of getting the last item I paid for and mentally deleting it.

Soon after I got a reply that they will send the missing part. I think “OK, maybe I’m just a pessimist” and set a reminder to check it just in case it doesn’t make it. It’s been almost 2 weeks since then and over a month overall. I sent a final message to ask what is going on with this order and why I have not received any tracking or new packages.

Cricket for days.
