The car won’t turn | Subaru Outback Forums

Hello,
I am new to the forum but have been trying to figure out this problem with my 05 Impreza outback sport 2.4l non-turbo. I was driving about 65-70 on a freeway in March when my car started sputtering, firing and I lost power steering and breaking was harder. I managed to get to an exit before my car’s engine stopped working. Battery was all good, still could put into neutral and pull away.

Anyway, it wants to turn badly, but after trying to turn it for a few seconds, it starts making loud noises, so I stop. It also gave me cylinder 3 and cylinder 4 misfiring codes and a p0420 (which I’ve had for a while now). I replaced the spark plugs, their wiring, the ignition coil, the battery, the alternator, the air filter, and the crank position sensor.

I haven’t touched any fuel yet, I don’t hear it trying to pump when it starts, but I also never noticed if it did. Does anyone have any clues or ideas as I am pulling the blanks and don’t want to spend any more money. It still won’t start and I don’t want to get rid of it, after all I’ve only had it a year.
-Thank you
