Gen 6 – Think I screwed up for my 60-k maintenance

Good morning everyone – I had posted in the past about the 2022 Outback Wilderness – I drive a lot, took delivery in Feb 2022 and just took it in for the 60,000 maintenance/service. I thought I had found a reputable dealership in the Chicago suburbs, as cost varies wildly from dealer to dealer, and when I found one that offered the service for $549.99 (oil/filter change, brake fluid replacement, tire rotation tires, replaced spark plugs and Changed the cabin and engine air filter I made the appointment, added the differential fluid change (front and rear for another $179.99) I had ordered the cabin and engine filters on line (I got them two for $38.00) and replaced them myself so I figured I’d save about $100.00 on the 60k service As Lee Corso says “Not so fast my friend” – I was told by Service Advisor that $549.99 not would be in play as I have a turbo and it’s harder to remove/replace spark plugs. Since I’m not good at auto repair/maintenance outside of changing air filters, did I sell a bunch of crap? And if I wonder why you would advertise a price, think bait and switch, then say, “Oh you got a turbo, more money please” or am I just that obnoxious old man who yells at the neighborhood kids “Hilni my lawn”. I have to say I love the vehicle, I actually took a 2023 Outback Touring as a loaner while the repairs were done and I have to say the Wilderness is like the Touring model on steroids. Looking forward to many more miles and adventures at my local dealership, I just wish I could find one I trust.
