I settled on the Odyssey ODX-AGM24M dual purpose battery. It fits the 2013 Outback 2.5i battery shelf with out any issues. The battery container height is 8.20 inches and that brings it just under a piece of the body edge for the fender. You will not be able to go any higher on a battery container than 8.20 inches. The base of the battery box is approximate 10.75 by 6.75 and the battery sits in the box with plenty of room left over.
I purchased the battery from Advanced Auto, not in stock so they ordered. I had Advanced Auto check the battery with their battery checker. Battery was charged and looked good. Of course, when I got home I put the battery on my CTEK US3300 charger and let it sit overnight. It took the CTEK about 4 hours to get the battery to the proper voltage and condition.
It is an easy installation but this beast is 57 pounds! This is an expensive, but very, very nice battery that will likely last me 8 or 10 years.
