Text messaging functionality over Bluetooth connection to iPhone stopped working.
I tried updating iPhone to iOS 17 in hopes the “Show Notifications” toggle would appear on the Subaru BT settings page. No such luck. I think Apple broke it, but my Subaru head software version appears to be a couple updates behind. So I tried to update OTA and got the Green “software download failed” error. I then tried the Aha update, which claims “software is up to date”
Current software is Rel_U0.18.43.20
2018 non-nav mid unit, no starlink service subscription

Dealer wants money to update by thumb drive, and I’m not confident of their IT capabilities.
The mysubaru-maps.com download site shows no download available, probably because the full update with mapping is not relevant to my non-nav head unit.
Is there a link to download the non-nav USB update?
Is there a fix for the OTA download failure?
At least Carplay works for text via USB cable, but it was nice to have BT wireless voice control for texting.
