This has happened to us about 6 times in the month we’ve owned our Ascension. Besides, we love the car.
When you start the car, it seems that if you happen to move the shifter out of park too soon after pressing the start button, the car goes into a semi-on state. The engine won’t start and the brake pedal won’t let you push it, but the radio is on. It stays that way for 30-60 seconds until you can turn it off and try again. Sometimes opening and closing the door seems to help things along, but this is not consistent. Not being able to brake is scary, because if you happen to do it while on a hill, you’ll start spinning and you can’t stop.
Has anyone else seen anything like this? We have reported it to our dealer and are taking it next week to have a look.
