hello all, 4 months ago switched from jeep to subaru, very pleased BUT, dealer and maintence booklet say first oil change at 6k
my info screen is telling me at start up it is time to change oil. I have 4K miles on it, and observed the break in suggestions.
no long trips, no dirty or dusty conditions, no hard braking or fast acceleration, Im getting 30.5 mpg so you can see my driving habits are car friendly.
When I go into the actual settings it says I have 1700 miles left before oil change, but the display says CHANGE OIL, and CHANGE OIL FILTER.
there is no local subaru dealer here, so my plan was a local reliable mechanic for service.
Do I really need to go to a dealer to figure this out? dealer is going to be an all day affair.
