That’s a great point – I put new Yokohama Geolandar A/Ts on relatively recently, which marks the onset of the high-speed shimmy, although it’s more noticeable on a stretch of freshly paved/flat/ uncarved beside me. I also need to clarify my language, the front sway bar links are failing, not just the bushings (ie loose in the housing and leaking grease). While this would definitely cause a creaking noise, which I’ve always had because it’s an Ascent, and apparently Subaru has included the sway bar linkage and/or strut noises in the base cost of the vehicle, the service manager and tech swear up and down that the connection Failure can also cause high-speed vibration. I guess we’ll see if it gets resolved, but great point about the tires.
