Harmonic balancer failure | Subaru Outback Forums

My mother drove by and I took the car from her.
It’s a 2004 Subaru Outback. It came to me with 24,681 miles. Yes, indeed a car that was driven by an old lady to church on Sunday, so I changed the oil and replaced the 19 year old T-belt. About 1500 miles later the harmonic balancer broke. I called Subaru and created a case #. I have talked to many different people there, but now I have all the contact information. all this over $199.78. I am on SSDI and Subaru’s LOVE PROMISE offered no help with my problem. If anyone has had a harmonic balancer failure, call Subaru at 1-800-782-2783, prompt 2, ext 119238. We hope you can connect with Ellie. She refused to help me with the bill. I also registered a complaint with NTHSA. I want everyone to pass the time and flood Ellie with calls demanding a refund for this very common repair. Please help an elder on SSDI. My car is fixed, no big deal to me, but the rep’s attitude was not very understanding. If we all come together, we can get our money back (with proper documentation). Let’s do it.
