Gen 6 – Dead Battery Will Grow Subaru?

Hello,
My two year old 2021 Outback battery is dead. Dealer wants to replace this with a larger, upgraded battery with added cost for new rack, bearing brackets, etc. Has anyone else gone here and had Subaru offer a prorated discount? Of course, the original battery design was flawed and not up to the task of handling all electronic devices. There had to be a comeback. The councilor has said that there is some kind of investigation.
Car is out of warranty 36000 miles with 46000+ But we will have under 3 years.

It is presumptuous to suggest “the original battery design was flawed“… let’s not forget that FEDERAL LAWS are binding everything vehicle manufacturers to make engineering decisions prioritizing emissions and efficiency over component life. You are free to install the biggest baddest battery that fits in your car.

You have no obligation to have your battery replaced by the dealer.
The fact that they want to sell you”shelf, support bracket etc.“It should be enough for you to go away and make other arrangements.

Personally, I buy batteries at the bar “Interstate battery” save and replace yourself… If you don’t feel comfortable under the hood… Most battery dealers and parts stores will install the battery you buy for FREE.

CAUTION: Every time the battery is disconnected, the radio will lose its default settings and the engine/xMission will have to relearn some things.
