Hi all,
I have a problem with my CarPlay. Outback XT 2023.
initially it was set up at dealership by sales person during a purchasing process.
it doesn’t connect now. I’ve tried to reset factory reset. It doesn’t work still. Does anyone have similar issue?
Thanks
Wireless so cables don’t matter. Be sure Bluetooth is turned on with the phone. Reboot the phone. Factory reset on the car should have cleared the phone from the car’s system. Delete the car from the phone, then try repairing. Usually there are a couple permissions you have to grant on the phone. As a last resort ask your salesman to set it up again as they do it all the time and are more familiar with the quirks. Also, if you don’t have the March 2023 version of the software get that update. If you bought your car in June 2023 or later it probably already has the latest.
Assuming you have done all of this, here are some quirks I’ve noticed on my 23. Having the phone plugged in seems to delay the wireless connection, but it eventually works. Most of the time I don’t plug in, but on long trips I do.
Second, hit the phone icon bottom right to pull up phone management. Select your phone and you will see three options: Bluetooth, CarPlay, and Starlink. Be sure CarPlay is selected and then hit connect at the top. Sometimes it takes two or three attempts. If it hasn’t connected after three attempts, reboot the phone and/or the car; you can reboot the car by holding in the audio button for about 5 seconds after the display goes blank. Doing everything in this paragraph has resulted in 100% connect rate for me. There should be another software update before the end of the year that will hopefully make it even more reliable.
