Creaking in the rear when turning

My ’19 Ascent Touring has developed a squeak in the rear end when turning a corner. Initially, this only happened when turning right; now it does it from wherever you turn.
I would have immediately thought it was a bad shock or something in the suspension of one of my older American cars, but I really have no idea what’s down in the Ascent.
Any idea what to look for? Service will look into it soon.

Well, I was going to hold off on posting until I had investigated more, but my 2019 Premium has the same symptom.

Interesting that @Robert.Mauro brought the rear brake tables because mine were changed recently. Although the noise does not appear to be brake related, I consider it a possible factor due to the time I first noticed the noise. I’ll also check the spare tire fitting soon, but it’s questionable; it’s not consistent enough for that.

My first thought was the suspension noise from the struts, mounts, ball joints, etc. However, I don’t think I ever heard the noise while driving straight, no matter how many bumps I went over. I’ve noticed it the most when turning right. My wife actually thought I was tooting my own horn at first. I understand that the forces on the suspension are different when going straight, so the suspension is not out of the question, but could this indicate something going on with the rear differential?

My next step is to sit in the 3rd row while someone else drives and try to locate the noise from there.

@Foveator lets join in and figure this out! Let me know what they find on your service visit. At the moment I am waiting for a visit.
