Considering a new 2023 climb

Just rented an Ascent Touring in FL. The dealer sold it well below MSRP as shown on the lease. It’s harder to say exactly than in the lease documents. But the deal was about $9000 in trade/equity cost reduction resulting in $425/mo on a 36 month, 10,000 mile/year lease. Tax title tags and dealer fees included.

If you can stick to 10-12,000 miles a year, leases seem pretty good to me right now. But you have to live with the possibility of having nothing of value in 36 months. The remaining values seem optimistic. However, if you can save the difference in payments, that’s something.

I can’t speak to the base model, but for the Limited or similar Onyx trims, I’d expect at least $2,000 off MSRP for a purchase. But here anyway, expect $1000 in dealer fees, so the “real” discount is closer to $1000 as I see it. If you shop aggressively, another $1,000 may be possible.
