Hey all! I’m desperate for some advice on getting the stock camera to play nice with my new head unit (sony xav-ax5000). My car is a 2016 Liberty/Legacy, posting here as afaik they are both pretty much identical, and this forum seems much more vibrant than any legacy ones.
My car is the non-premium with the crappy h/u that lacks navigation. I’ve come to the conclusion that the new h/u is outputting something like 12v, whereas it seems most of the oem subie cameras are 6v. All the steering retention and camera retention harnesses were a plug and play type setup, so I wouldn’t know where to start when trying to splice in some type of voltage reducer.
In the photos you can see a 5 pin connector with no home, which i’ve read is usually involved with the camera, so perhaps i’ve got the complete wrong harnesses?
Any help from anyone with experience in this frustrating installation would be greatly appreciated
