Reduce Road Noise in 2021 Outback XT Touring

I plan to replace the stock tires with the quietest available, which are the Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus3s, according to my research. Next, it’d be to insulate more where the tires are the closest, which is the firewall sides, rear of front fenders, entire rear fenders, and part of the hatch. Having said that, on other than rough asphalt (prevalent where I live, unfortunately), wind noise is the dominant noise on my OB, so it wouldn’t make a lot of sense to invest in quieting down road noise other than better tires (as mentioned before), when there’s nothing we can do about wind noise. I’m leaving on a long trip with the family on Thursday, so when I come back will be able to comment more on the levels of noise from both wind and tires, and how tolerable are they. The good news is I don’t expect the overall noise level to be above my ex-’22 Santa Fe Calligraphy, which had better wind noise management, but worse road noise management, so they’re about par IMO. But we’ll see:geek:.
