They absorb. Now I have to do a lot of follow-up, paperwork, appraisals, getting the car in, getting a loaner, etc, etc. The dash cam helped and the Sheriff said he would take care of it. I’m sure my insurance will want to see it.
I was using Adaptive Cruise at the time and you can see my car was stopping just fine. Just before the crash and after my Subaru started to stall. I looked in the rear view hoping the driver behind would stop in time and seeing that it might be close I got a little closer to the car in front but that didn’t give the driver behind enough room. No doubt in my mind if she was in a Subaru with EyeSight, she would have stopped in time.
God, it sure was loud.
