So the consensus is: I turn off my $45k vehicle that can literally ‘see’, but it’s not wise to turn off everything that draws power – really?
Well, I’m glad you don’t! I installed an occupancy sensor light switch in our garage so we don’t forget to turn off the lights in there. But I also work on our cars there, and guess what if you don’t see me in or under the car working on something? Lights out!
I’ll tell you what, it gets annoying fast, working on something with both hands and on your back and *POOF* total darkness, LOL. So, I’m glad the machine doesn’t just say, “meh, I’m out… but there’s still power being drawn, hmmm, let me turn those things off.” haha.
What they can do, which could be years later, is to wire another sensor or software code to the seat occupancy sensor. And if there’s power pulling or the lights are still on, and it doesn’t detect butt in the seat, THEN it’ll go ahead and turn those lights off. That would be nice!
