2011 Subaru Outback 2.5 with one of the clutchless relay AC compressors. It basically started to run intermittently, I filled it with one of the advanced single low side gauge auto bottles. Then it started working for the first two minutes and then not again unless I wait until the next day, then again for the first few minutes and not again until the next day.
I bought some actual manifold gauges and it looks like about 26-29 psi on the low side and about 200 on the high side (at idle). This is a rough estimate because the compressor only runs for a short time and then cuts out so I can no longer get a proper reading or add more refrigerant. I’ll probably go ahead and vacuum and set the exact amount the system needs. First question is does anyone know how many oz are needed? The second question is is there anything else I’m missing that could be causing this other than the pressure switch that cuts off the compressor to prevent damage? And does anyone know what the low and high side pressure should be? Also after it is cut off does the ECU store the code for a certain amount of time? I tried disconnecting the battery to reset everything and the only thing that will work is to wait until the next day when the compressor runs for a few minutes. Thanks for any reply
