2002 Subaru Outback 2.5-LA/C Recharge – Schrader Valve Questions

I am getting ready to recharge the air conditioner in one of my moms. The air conditioning system obviously has a leak because it only blows warm air and the air conditioning compressor does not turn on. I will soon have a vacuum pump to properly evacuate the A/C system and check for leaks. I will trace the ink leak and fix it before reloading the system.

My question is: Using a disposable R134a bottle equipped with a pressure gauge and off-the-shelf hardware, I checked the size of both Schrader valves on this subie and the off-the-shelf R134a fitting. none of the Schrader valves on the Subie fit. I have refilled the 3.0 Gen 2 several times with disposable bottles of R134a and the low side Schrader valve always fits off the shelf bottles…Why is this subie different?
