I had the opportunity to contact XPEL headquarters in San Antonio TX to inquire about the correct product SKU for us for the Infotainment and Shifting Platform Protective Film.
While XPEL has a kit for the Subaru Outback (Interior Kit (ULTIMATE PLUS)), the kit has many components that are not relevant to the Outback Wilderness. Furthermore, the presentation of the product on the website is not 100% the same as what they see in their DAP software (XPEL | DAP – Design Access Program | Model Software and Database).
I called XPEL (210-678-3700) and was 11 in line. The queue moved very quickly and the phone bot notified me every time my number in the queue was reduced which was nice. I felt noticed.
After speaking with a fantastic customer service representative at XPEL, we were both confused as to why we weren’t seeing the same layout and diagram. She sent me a picture of her layout so we could confirm and then select the specific hood pieces needed for my setup. Here you can see all available interior options.
XPEL and the service representative were completely willing to work with me to modify the all-in-one kit they have in inventory to prepare a kit that is specific to my needs.
This ONLY included the Display Screen, the middle left and right vent cover, and the center keyboard cover with the camera cutout. After the parts were reassembled into a smaller diagram, a new SKU was created, UP1635227-U. The product description is (Display Screen Center Console and R/L Vents Only – P3808DC (ULTIMATE PLUS)). I requested and was granted permission to share this SKU with others so they too can order the same kit. This NEW kit is not on the website, but if you call, they should have it in their internal system.
Prices – While prices may vary, at the time of this writing, the custom kit I ordered was $32.95. Your price may change if you add or subtract other parts. I suspect this price is based on square inches of materials. FedEX shipping was $9.57 or I could have gone to XPEL San Antonio for a store pickup – but the ‘juice wasn’t worth the squeeze’ since it was set to arrive the next day via FedEX.
