He originally had it listed for $2500, now it’s $1999. Owner doesn’t seem to know much about cars. Told me he was driving on the highway, check engine light came on. He pulled over to the shoulder and then the engine stalled. He restarted it and could hear “engine knock” and could only drive 5 mph so he called a tow and was towed to Meineke where they read the codes. P0137 and P0028. He said it did not overheat when this happened and had never overheated before. Owner also stated no oil leaks and a recent oil change 3 weeks ago.
This would be my first Subaru and I am mechanically inclined and do a lot of work on my own vehicles and motorcycles.
Should I assume this would need a rebuilt engine and try to talk him down more? Walk away? Bad oil filter causing noise? I told him to send me a video of it running, so I am waiting for that.
