Which Outback to buy | Subaru Outback Forums

2020 SUBARU OUTBACK LIMITED at 86,000 km/54,000 miles or 2020 Subaru OutbackPremier XT at 27,000 km/17,000 miles. Which one would you take? The premium is Cdn$7,000 more. I tend to keep my cars for 7 or more years so this is a big decision.
I’m coming from a 2014 Toyota Venza, so the size is about the same, which is what I’m aiming for.
‘Would you like opinions on which to recommend or wait and save more for a newer model?
Thank you!

The 2014 Venza came with 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engines, which are very similar in power to the non-turbo vs. turbo Outback engines.

If your Venza was a 4 cylinder and you thought the power was OK, the Outback without the XT will be fine, but if you have a 6 cylinder Venza and want similar power, then it’s the XT.

We had an 09 Venza and it’s significantly wider than an Outback, so make sure you’re aware of that. Our Venza had the 6 and pulled very strong and smooth, more so than the Subaru turbo. Build quality, however, the 20+ Outback has a more solid feel, so whichever of the two you choose will be fine. Normally I would say go with the one with the lowest mileage, but I wonder why a three year old car only has 17k miles on it. If it’s run by the little old lady from Pasadena, aka my mom, then maybe that’s the one to pick.
