Well, the 27 mpg is the HIGHWAY rating, so you’d never get that with city driving involved, at least not with a turbo. Those figures could be attainable with a 2.5L engine, and maybe. These are heavy vehicles, so don’t expect compact size mileage figures. I’m also a bit disappointed at the laggy response on my ’24, mostly attributable to the lack of driving modes, but it’s not horrible. I’m getting used to that, and just allow enough time/distance before making a passing maneuver, since it does not react as quickly as other vehicles. But once it does, it has enough power. A sport mode would have solved most of that IMO, but Subaru decided to put it on Crosstreks, but not the top OB T-XT trim. Oh well; not the end of the world.
