Curious if anyone has had this problem. I took the 2019 Subaru Ascent to the dealer for the latest transmission recall. This was fine but when they were doing the work they noticed that the CVT transfer clutch assembly needed to be replaced and said it was an immediate problem and needed to be fixed before I could return my car. Since this is warranty work, I’m not paying for it, but the key is that they have no idea when the part will come in. So far its been 3 weeks and no one can give me an estimate of when the part will arrive. It is by order only. My complaint is that I am still making payments on a vehicle that I cannot drive and they gave me a Cross Trek that is not as nice as my Ascenti and no one knows when I will get my car back. They also told me that I should not have my dog in the car, but I should take my dog to boarding and the vet.
Has anyone had a similar problem with the CVT? Is this another potential recall issue that they haven’t gotten to yet? And do I have any chance of getting a better lease? I just can’t believe they have no idea when the part will arrive and can’t even tell me if it will be weeks or months. I don’t like paying for a car I can’t drive when it’s a Subaru problem and not due to wear and tear.
Any tips or reports on similar issues?
