I had Hullavators in an ’05 and have one in my ’17. In both cases they must be mounted on Thule cross bars. The bars should extend a few inches past the mount legs so the arms don’t hit the side of the vehicle when lowered.
I haven’t researched how to put the Thule crossbars on the standard rails because my Touring came with Thule foot rails.
I carry a 50lb, 17′ sea kayak and the Hullvator makes loading and unloading easy and quick without visits to the chiropractor. I highly recommend them. Remove the Hullavators between uses by pulling the large pins. No need for them to eat gas mileage or slam garage doors.
