I just replaced the rear brake pads and rotors on our 2016 Outback and now there is this screeching sound coming from the wheels when the car goes over bumps. It’s bad enough that little bumps in the road cause it, so you just hear it every few seconds going down the road. I took the wheels off and noticed that when I turn the rotor I can see the inside (near the caliper piston) moving up and down every now and then.
I reapplied grease to all the parts that come in contact with the caliper bracket, but the problem is still there. This is the 4th or 5th car I’ve replaced the brakes on and never had this problem, however this is the first time I’ve done it on an Outback. The fillers and spinners are Duraast Gold.
At this point I have no idea and think I can try new pads from another manufacturer or pay a shop to fix my mistakes.
Any ideas?
Thank you.
