The Subaru warranty (10/100) I bought with this car is the first extended warranty I’ve ever purchased for a car. My main concern was all the tech on this car, the CCU, that fairly expensive center display and the CVT. I fully expect I’ll keep this car for 8 to 10 years and there’s a whole lot that can go wrong in that period of time. Honestly, odds are that there won’t be enough to justify what I paid for the warranty, but there are a handful of things that could easily go wrong that will make it worth the money. Also, I’m semi-retired and had the money to buy the warranty but I might not have several thousand dollars to burn for a repair in 5 or 6 years.
As far as the turbo goes, I wouldn’t be all that concerned about that. Turbos have been around for a long time now and as long as you take care of your car, which I think I can safely say the members of this forum do, 100k is a cake-walk for todays turbos.
