STARLINK Service Plan Renewal Process

Since many of us probably took advantage of the 3-year discounted pricing plan for STARLINK when we bought our Ascents, it’s time to start reviewing the plan options now that the Ascent has been available for about 3 years.
Please share any other tips and discounts you find below. That’s what the community is for!

Navigating the mysubaru.com website is a little less than intuitive..

Login will take you to the remote services page. If you don’t have service, it will ask you to subscribe instead.

In the navigation bar at the top of the page, click STARLINK > Packages and Pricing to view available options.

If you click ‘Sign Up/Renew Now’ it takes you to another page to sell you other services like ATT Wifi or Sirius XM, but there is a little link on that page for ‘billing settings’ that you can click to find your plan renewal price. .

STARLINK automatically renews at the full annual price with no visible options to renew for longer. BUT, there is a way around annual billing if you have the time and patience! (Even though there are 2 switches, turning one off also turns off the other).

Now, here’s how I saved a lot of money! WARNING: plans, prices and promotions are subject to change

The first thing I did was to cancel all STARLINK Subscriptions

Here’s the tiring part… after canceling the services you have to WAIT ONE DAY for the new service to start! YOU WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ANY ADDITIONAL ROADSIDE SERVICE OR REMOTE START/LOCK/UNLOCK UNTIL SERVICE IS RESTORED

The current full price plans are as follows:

(descriptions of the plans are in the second image).

  • Safety Plus is $99.95/1 year, $149.95/2 years, $199.95/3 years, or $9.95/month
    • this is the only standalone plan
  • Security Plus is $49.95/1 year, $74.95/2 years, $99.95/3 years or $4.95/month
    • this plan is optional but requires Security Plus
  • Concierge service is $49.95/1 year, $74.95/2 years, $99.95/3 years, or $4.95/month
    • this plan is also optional, but requires Security and Security Plus

After selecting these plans, you are given a chance to enter a promotional code before purchasing. I am not aware of any promotional codes working at this time; “STARLINK9” no longer works. This can at least save some money in the long run compared to renewing year after year.

,

However, call STARLINK customer care and ask them about the renewal over the phone. While searching for promo codes, I came across several discussions with people saying they were given discounts by calling to renew. Your luck/experience may vary, results are not guaranteed!

The representative I spoke with asked me which plan I was interested in, which was the 3-year Safety & Security Plus. Without saying so, I was willing to pay $299.90 to cover remote start/key/unlock for the next 3 years. Much to my surprise the rep quoted me $74.95. I had to clarify that it was total, not per year. Yes, $74.95 total. They immediately transferred me to a secure line to get my credit card information and within minutes the transaction was completed, saving me $225.

I hope this helps everyone navigate the STARLINK service on mysubaru.com
