SoA admits “We know there is a problem with some of these core units.”

I’m so glad you posted this. My 2020 Touring XT has been experiencing the same problem for months after purchase. Every time, I’m gaslighted and told the problem doesn’t exist, but I always require either (1) a system update or (2) new USB to Lightning cable or (3) both.

On Memorial Day, my head unit rebooted THREE times in less than 5 minutes. I took videos of each incident and immediately called SoA the next morning to seek resolution. The representative I spoke with did not acknowledge this as a known issue, but informed me that a customer resolution specialist will contact me after my dealer visit on Friday. I will definitely refer back to this post (with your permission).

While I love the car, the fact that these problems are widespread and annoying—occurring both on short trips to the gas station and on longer day trips upstate—detracts from my overall enjoyment of the car. and the Subaru brand. Having been loyal to it now for almost half a decade, if it can’t be sorted this will be my last Subaru.
