I have a ’23 Touring with Factory Tow Package. Before taking the plunge and doing a “self install” of the RedArc Brake Controller, I’d like to ensure it’s within my skill set.
If I order the controller and the Ascent wiring adapter, will I need to run a ground wire from the Controller to the chassis, or is it literally just “plug harness to car, plug harness to controller”?
I’ve watched numerous videos of the install on this site, I’ve located my factory plug in the footwell, and I’ve hollowed out a blank switch plate for mounting the controller knob. Looking at wiring diagrams, it appears I’ll also need to run a ground wire, and I’m not sure where I’d do that.
Any help would be appreciated.
