2022 Outback Touring model. ~12,000 miles.
March 2023 update self-installed a few months ago without any issues.
We had an issue the other day where the auto windows stopped working – which I figured might be due the bad lightning storms we have had.
Then my husband said the windows stopped working altogether, but after a restart, worked fine.
Then today, all the windows, sunroof and power seats stopped working. (The seats and sunroof might have been affected before, but we didn’t check).
There might also be a problem with rear liftgate… I still need to check this.
I have checked every fuse in both boxes and then threw caution to the wind and hit the software factory reset.
Nothing – nada….
Any thoughts on what to tell the dealer tomorrow?
Thanks
S
Side notes:
My husband fought me on keeping the car at the start, we like how it drives, but the dashboard/infotainment/ “distraction” system has become a constant insult.
It has made driving a chore – which is sad because we loved our 1996, 2010 & 2012. The 2012 got “better” gas mileage and was enjoyable to drive.
Sadly the 1996 was totaled while parked, so we got the 2010, which was wreaked by a snowplow, so that’s why we had the 2012.
And in the larger picture – what are people considering as another brand? (not that anyone who sells a subaru is lurking around here anymore!)
I am utterly baffled that Subaru seems incapable of getting this working better.
Seems to me, stripping out the software and focusing on a clean, simple responsive touchscreen would go far in giving anyone of us who were die-hard supporters a way to continue supporting the brand. As it is now, after three years without even addressing the issue, the only option we have left is to ditch the brand.
We were hoping to consider an electric subaru, but we have lost all faith in their ability to develop a car that is better.
