power window switch?? | Subaru Outback Forums

Hello to everyone,
so I’m working on my wife’s 93 Legacy L station, I know it’s not an outboard, but I expect there are some similarities??

the car has been in south carolina on a coastal island, it may have flooded a little on the moon tides and at least had some rain with the windows open. (we moved to Portugal nine months ago and left the car with her mother)

So now the power windows don’t work as well as the seat belt on the driver side of the vehicle only. The seat belt of the passenger vehicle is working. None of the switches work for the windows, nor the driver’s console control, nor the individual ones. The rearview mirrors don’t work either.

so i checked all the fuses, none seem to have blown through, all good, both in the car and in the engine compartment box. I replaced the SP (?) relays in the surrounding engine compartment and it didn’t fix it. even changed some of the 15W fuses around, nothing.

one thing i saw online said that there are circuit breakers as well as fuses in our cars but i can’t find anything like that.

Any advice on this? we’re traveling across the country to denver this week, then back to the east coast later in july. we really need to open and close some windows!!

I’m considering just connecting the dough directly to the switches to test it, does the switch have to be grounded, or can I wire the position and negate the switch with the black and red wires? (Of course the battery neg will have to stay grounded..)

thanks for any suggestions!!
