PCV | Subaru Ascent Forum

I am interested in the same issue, just the dealer recommended to replace it, but they want approx $360. I have found the valve for $20 so $360 sounds crazy. I talked to a mechanic I used to go to before I got my subaru. In its manuals, it actually says to never remove this valve as it has a liquid seal that cannot be replaced if removed. His recommendation was to not replace and just walk away unless I start to see signs of trouble. I understand the PCV valve point, but with newer cars, it seems that shouldn’t be an issue since they are supposed to burn cleaner. can someone please chime in and enlighten us about the pcv valves?

Thank you.
