My trouble lights lit up the other day and I see the code tripped is P0458 having to do with the emission system. I found a broken wire when inspecting the system. It is from a switch with a turquoise colored connector
on top of the intake manifold (see large pic above) and I’m damned if I know how this wire was severed. The end you see in the pic was just hanging down and the other end seems to have disappeared into the wiring harness and is not at all visible. The second pic shows what I believe is the terminal connection on the passenger side firewall where all of the wiring harness wires are bundled to this final connection.I assume this broken wire is part of that bundle connection.
Any Subaru mechanics here in the forum who can guide me on how to fix this? Is it a shop fix only or is a DIY repair by me even feasible? I really would appreciate some guidance. The vehicle appears to be operable (no Eye Sight) in spite of all the trouble lights on the instrument panel. HELP!
