Other: – Need help with 2016 legacy

Hello to all newbies to the forum. I just bought a 2016 legacy premium with cvt and 79000 miles. I took it for a test drive and everything looked good and the car was beautiful so I bought it. The dealer was 1:30 hours away from me and on the drive home I started hearing a low spinning sound, almost like gears but not grinding gears. The sound seems to come from the front driver side suspension area and is quite subtle. It is speed dependent but not rpm dependent as it makes the same sound whether it is 3k rpm or in neutral. I immediately called the dealer and was told to take it out. The dealer told me this is a normal noise that all legacies this year make and it is a cvt noise. He offered to have the mechanic come in further if I returned the car and left it there for a few days.
The question is does this sound like transmission noise? Is it normal? And should I have them look into it further? Thank you in advance
