…going beyond the basic maintenance schedule and avoiding any future problems, to the extent possible, by doing anything preventive or ahead of schedule.
There is much debate, but like SilverOnyx, I think draining/filling the CVT at 50,000 mi / 80,000 km is appropriate.
This…
….seems like a worthwhile service to do that isn’t right. sched (coolant junction tube O-ring and PCV Union + connecting hoses – not to be confused with valve and PVC hose).
My PCV valve was due for change at 30,000 mi. / ~ 50,000 km, but the hose can probably do 2 cycles (60,000 mi. / ~ 95,000 km). Subaru really needs to put this out in the open as regularly scheduled. maintain. IMO. It will be every 30-36,000 mi. for me.
I also plan to change the serpentine/”accessory” belt at 90,000 mi / ~145,000; not just “inspect” it, as labeled in maint. planned.
Since good electrical circulation is so critical in cars…clean every electrical ground connection you can reach every __ years (3?, 5?…) whatever suits you.
Pipes harden and crack due to heat cycles or rot over time. Change whenever you see fit.
In this last thread @AvidHiker had an issue due to a radiator cap no longer closing – necessary with the pressurized system. You can consider this a routine 100,000 mi / 160,000 km network. item or just wait until it goes bad.
Same thing with the gas cap.
