Let’s all make a case with Subaru about wireless charging!

Included in a package when I bought my 2022 Limited, it sucks, my phone shows charging but no % boost, but it still heats up my phone to the point where my phone turns itself off to cool down, which is crazy funny. I checked the whole post and it seems like almost everyone has the same problem, and it seems like subaru won’t admit it, let’s all file a case so they can do a recall on the whole wireless charger, so so they can make new ones that actually work or at least remove them and give us our money back, heating a battery means potentially exploding, it’s a safety issue.

Edit: and I can’t turn off the wireless charging capability, so I can’t even put the phone in my pocket!

Stand tall.

Just because YOU don’t like wireless charging doesn’t mean the entire Outback community does… or wants to get rid of it.

Wireless charging is very inefficient regardless of which phone or charger. The charger creates a magnetic field that induces a charge in the battery. Heat will be generated.

Is your phone in the case? Is that box rated for Qi wireless charging? The more of a gap there is between the phone and the charger, the less efficient it is and the higher the chances of generating excess heat. Some cases have metal pieces and this also causes problems.

This “issue” is certainly not worth the effort of complaining to Subaru.

My question is why hasn’t Subaru licensed CarPlay wirelessly so I can leave my phone on the wireless charger and use CarPlay wirelessly. Without wireless CarPlay, I don’t use the wireless charger much since my phone charges when connected.

When I use the wireless charger, my iPhone gets a little warm, but it doesn’t heat up or thermally shut down.
