Our 2021 Outback Premium. It has the LED interior lighting package. However the rear one over the and near the rear lift gate does not appear to be a LED. Could someone see if there is a non LED.
Thanks
Someone on this forum posted about an array of LEDs they had installed. LEDs are not a big deal for me but the cargo area can seem a little dark when there are no streetlights around and I do prefer a color balance close to daylight. I decided to purchase the suggested Luyed LED array I saw on this now lost post. It works as anticipated. No issues after two weeks of use and they even dim after shutdown.
The LED array is on a board. The back of the board arrives with 3M 9080A double coated adhesive attached to the backside of the board. Just peel-off the wax-paper backing and mount. The inside of the light housing has a 3.5 sided ledge which works well for attaching the array with the supplied tape. The 3½ ledges for mounting are identified with orange lines in the photo. Note that not all sides have to be attached to hold the array. I positioned the array to allow one of the long sides to have an air gap.
FYI, I made my own prying tool by grinding a bevel on the end of a popsicle stick. It was faster and cheaper than ordering a kit. I also installed another one of these arrays in my dome light and have not had any error messages or other known problems. I did a modification above the light diffuser of this backseat dome light; I am not recommending anyone try this but just reporting to say these units have not caused any noted issues in the couple of weeks of use.
LUYED 4 x 960LM Super Bright 5630 24-SMD White Color Panel Interior Dome LED Lights (Includes 3 Adapters)
There are 3 each adapters for each array, with plugs, to allow switch-outs for different sockets.
