Hit and run rear-ender. Did hitch ball mount save the day … or is there something hidden??

On Friday, I was rear-ended by a drunk man who fled the scene. My wife called the police and we pursued at a safe distance. Within about five minutes, police were on the scene of the parked car after the occupants exited the vehicle and tried to walk away by jumping a fence. Within about another 5 minutes, the driver was detained as were the passengers. Driver was arrested for DUI and one of the passengers was detained for an outstanding warrant for parole violation. (Car was a Hertz Rental)

Now, to the question in the title of the thread. The accident wasn’t major, but it felt like a good jolt to me and my wife as we weren’t prepared for it. My hitch mount and ball were on it appears to have punctured the other car’s grill and possibly made contact with the radiator, or other component, as the car eventually overheated and they had to park.

When I got out of my car to assess the damage … I couldn’t find any! I mean, I can’t find ANY damage (other than a small piece of black plastic stuck to the hitch ball). Not a scratch on the bumper, not a crease, nothing!

I have USAA and it is scheduled for inspection on the 14th, but curious if anyone here has any insights or suggestions. Part of me can’t believe NOTHING was damaged, but everything appears intact and no safety lights on the car. Anything in particular I should be worried about or force my hand on?

Dashcam footage (front and rear) are below (NO AUDIO). (This is just the accident part, as the pursuit and police activity aren’t relevant to this discussion.) Thoughts?
