I set out to install my Hella Supertone horns this weekend. Used a Perrin mount for mounting. Removed them due to the bronze color of the tin can. Wire them up using the two factory flat/open connectors. Attach the bases back to the chassis using the old horn location. Open factory pending to clean wiring. Had to wrap the driver’s factory horn wire on his overdrive. Did not use the provided relay. I’ve read and it seems it’s only necessary if you use both factory AND Hella horns. If you eliminate the factory horns, the factory relay can handle the load. I secured the driver’s side harness to an existing bolt using a terminal connector and zip ties, just like the ground terminal. The hard plastic tube was already in the harness, I reused it for scraping purposes.
