Hello everybody –
I have had cylinder misfiring starting on 4/15/23. I will list the history of obd 2:
4/15/23 – P0300 random cylinder misfire
6/25/23 – P0303 cylinder 3 misfiring
6/26/23 – P0301/P0303 cylinder 1 and 3 fail.
7/6/23 – P0303 cylinder 3 misfiring
7/10/23 – P0303 cylinder 3 misfiring
7/17/23 – P0300 random cylinder misfire.
Spark plugs were changed on 3/21 at 105,000 miles. Milage is now 119,000.
When the misfires started, using 93 octane or a fuel additive seemed to fix the problem, no more misfires. But the 93 octane doesn’t run as well and the misfires are back. Gas mileage has been 20 mpg in the city, so it’s definitely gotten worse. Very rarely does the car not start on the first try, but always on the second try. The car will sometimes spit and sputter, especially during acceleration, but sometimes when cruising. Can anyone point me in the right direction to figure out what the problem could be because my local Subaru dealership wants to sell me everything when I bring it to them.
