I had a 2020 Outback and just got my 2023.
2020 radio was very frustrating due to the alphabetical reading of songs, which I was able to bypass by adding the prefix to the song name (thanks to Foobar2000, I could do it in bulk). Now 2023, good news – this seems fixed !!
But now I have a whole new problem… the same USB flash drive I was using (Sandisk 32go) seems to re-index from boot, but randomly.
A few times when I turn on the car everything is fine and the same previous song continues, some time the re-indexing seems to be able to load – then it turns out to start the first song of the USB Flash Drive and sets the repeat option to On.
I am currently trying to find the root cause of this by:
- Trying other USB flash drive models
- Reformatting an actual USB drive to make it look like it has less space
- Put less music
The only positive result I found was to try a very old 4 GB Flash Drive, so far – with this key – no problem, but still testing.
I have seen many forum threads on similar issues.
Was anyone able to figure this out?
