I’m in a state of anxiety here and would like some constructive insight. I very recently installed the Ironman 4×4 spec c Ats lift kit on my 2022 Outback limited.
First thing: I am very novice at this stuff, but I want to learn, so I do. I have read a ton that the Ironman kit is easy. It has so for been a bit of a nightmare.
The kit I received was missing hardware to begin with. So I probably should’ve seen it coming when I went to install some of the hardware and it was not fitting. Also, the subframe bolts that came with the kit would not thread properly. They seemed like they were the wrong thread and I couldn’t finger thread them at all. So some people had advised that I don’t put the spacers in at all, including staff at Ironman after I told them what was happening. They said the factory may have screwed up. So I just installed the struts and called it a day. It lifted the wagon and feels okay when I drive it. So yay!
Next day, I go to get an alignment and they won’t do it, saying there is something to do with the camera and all that tech that stops them. So I have to go to the dealer. So I do, and they do an alignment, which is shitty at best. They don’t adjust any tech stuff I’m told needs to be adjusted, and then charge me a $100 more then it would have cost at Firestone or whatever.
Anyway, that the story. Here is the alignment and the message Firestone got. Also, the back tires are really far forward. Is not putting the spacers in a bad situation? Oh, also, when i went to put the bolt back in for the brake line bracket on the strut, the weld snapped clear off. So i am going to clamp it down with a 12mm bolt.
