Hey everyone, new here from the Seattle area. I’ve been away from the car forums for a long time, but it’s good to be back and dive head first down this rabbit hole.
I am coming from a company car to buy a vehicle. I am about to buy a Gen 6 XT and have a few options that I would like some feedback on.
- Used (non-CPO) 2020 Touring XT, 57 thousand miles, one owner, maintenance seems to have been well maintained as I called the local dealer and asked them to pull the records. Is this mileage too high??? That’s my only concern. This is the cheapest option about $10,000 less than the others.
- CPO Option 1 – Loaner car with dealer, 2023 Limited XT, 6k miles. $38,000. That’s pretty comparable to most CPO options I’ve found with the occasional $34-$36,000 option I’d have to travel for.
- Option 2 of CPO 2022 Desert – 9 thousand miles. It’s a wildness that’s attractive, but I just can’t get on with the two-tone interior…but it’s a desert!!! 37500 dollars
- NEW – All kinds of 2023 XT limited options available, about $37-38,000 near me. Most of them have been in well over 30 days and I’m trying to get the numbers to $35,000 out the door, do you think that’s even possible?
So if you were to buy a Gen6, would you go for the high-mileage used option and pocket the money for repairs down the road? Go with a CPO for the extended warranty on a nearly new vehicle? Or just go buy a brand new car?
Thank you very much! I’m already learning a lot from the community and can’t wait to pull the trigger on my new Outback!
