I actually avoid parking under trees for this very reason, but when I do end up under a tree, I check the car when I get back.
I’ve never used the heat trick, but I’ll keep that in mind. I try to wax once a month which has served me well over the years. Waxing a car that is often actually quite easy certainly takes less time than waxing only once every 6-12 months. The Outback takes about an hour, the Ascent closer to 90 minutes. My truck that I traded for the Climb had a lot of surface area and took over two hours.
Meguiars was offering a free all-day class in the Southern California area. Here is a recap from 2018: Reivew of the Meguiars DA training class held in Irvine CA
I think the class may have been on hiatus during Covid, but it looks like they’re starting up again: Meguiar’s April 20, 2023 Open Garage Night – Irvine, CA – Car Care Forums: Meguiar’s Online
If you ever get a chance to attend, I highly recommend it. The class I went to when I lived in California was one of those all-day jobs where everyone could practice with their car. They always chose one person from the class to give extra attention to their particular car, usually someone whose paint looked beyond repair. Sometimes it really is too far, but with the right products and know how you can do amazing things. I walked away with the knowledge of how to spend 60-90 minutes a month to keep paint looking new practically forever. Meguiars Cleaner Wax is still my product of choice.
