Ah, so you didn’t select the canbus settings from the android unit’s factory menu? That may be the issue. I’m just guessing here. Without proper configuration, the unit may not start using the camera properly.
If you go to Settings -> Factory and enter the passcode (not sure what your default would be, mine was 3368) there are a bunch of settings there, one of them is to identify the Canbus adapter. This will allow your head unit to interact with the machine appropriately.
In my case, I had to try several of the listed cannabis adapters to find the right one, as well as to select the correct input type (type 1). I never had to program any buttons, the head unit picked up and translated those signals automatically. It also knows when the doors are open, the reverse angle changes, the climate controls appear, all from the head unit.
